3 years old

Today marks your 3rd loop around the Sun.

I’ve watched you grow, as I too have grown.
I’ve watched you face your fears, as I faced my own.
I’ve learned from you, as you have learned from me.

I have learned to approach everyone with the intention to make a new friend.
I have learned to have patience even though what we desire is in front of us.
I have learned to see the world full of wonder and possibility even on the darkest day.

But the most important thing I have learned from you, is that it doesn’t need to be a special day in order to have a moment of fun.
To take a moment to laugh.
To take a moment to live.

All of these things I could have only learned from you.
