judgement day
As I was walking through Tinsletown to get to my next meeting, I watch the majority of people walk face down and eyes glued to a screen. Everyone else is avoiding eye contact or ignoring the homeless people scattered everywhere.
I think to myself "this world is becoming such a cold, disconnected place."
An alarm on my phone goes off, I reach into my back pocket to grab the phone to turn it off the alert and continue walking.
A moment later a guy runs up to me and says "Hey! You dropped this" and I see the $110 that was in my pocket in his hand.
I thank him for returning it to me, he smiles and we part ways.
I glance up at the sky and acknowledge the lesson learned, that I should stop making such generalized statements about people.
