old programming

We start off fresh, a clean slate with a stable operating system. Then we add programs and apps to do things, then as time passes we get used to how things run.

We don't question it anymore.

We get comfortable.

We don't like change as it might screw things up.

Be incompatible with how things are.

Cause conflicts.

We don't change because it takes effort to do so.

So we leave things be.

Some of the apps don't run as smoothly, but we like it as it is.

Bugs start showing up.

An app might to crash at random times.

But everything is still running, so we limp along.

Then a massive update happens.

Old apps don't launch anymore as they are not compatible.

All the old data is still there, but can't access it.

Start freaking out as this is not good!

I want things to go back to the way it was!

I was to get to that data!

Spent a good part of a day trying to find a way to downgrade, to revert back to the old operating system.

But it can't be done.

This is my iPhone I am talking about, but it could easily have been my journey to date.

I freaked out when I couldn't launch Notespark and remembered all of the data that was stored within it. Data that I couldn't access anymore.

But I didn't ask myself when was the last time I did access it.

Stayed up until 5AM trying to find a way to downgrade the phone back to the way it was.

Desperate to access that old data.

And I realize that I would most likely stay there if I found a way back.

But this upgrade left me no option.

I'm here.

So might as well embrace it.

With this decision made, I relax my mind and chose to log into my Evernote account. In there I find a folder, inside of it contained all of the old Notespark data.

So I was smart enough back then to prepare for the future.

I just fell back into an old routine for so long that I forgot.
